TSX Tower in a packed Times Square

A New York minute moves fast. But this year, a new hotel brand invites you to set your own pace at the most visited corner in the Western Hemisphere.

Last month, Tempo by Hilton Times Square debuted at the freshly reimagined crossroads of 47th Street and Broadway. It does not get more centrally located than the spot that welcomes 400,000 people daily! The 661-room hotel occupies the new TSX Broadway tower, along experiential retail and transformative entertainment spaces, all sitting atop the newly raised Palace Theatre

If you hadn’t heard, Broadway’s historic Palace Theatre is leveling up—quite literally. To clear space for new retail in the TSX tower, the 14-million-pound theatre has been lifted 30 feet off the ground, maintaining the entirety of the Beaux-Arts, protected landmark intact, from stage to balcony. How is it possible to put that together? Mr. Sondheim might say…

Bit by bit…
Piece by piece…

More specifically, engineers used a system of jacks and telescoping beams to move the 1913 structure in 12 cm increments, each time reassessing the structure before moving the next 12 cm. Yes, it was risky from the start but, hey, art isn’t easy

And neither is finding a brand-new hotel in Times Square that is steps from the action while a refuge from the mayhem. The floor to ceiling windows showcase breathtaking views of Times Square, the Bluestone Lane Grab & Go store keeps busy guests energized, and Highball, the hotel’s signature restaurant and cocktail lounge, beckons your pre and post-theatre excursions. You can choose a seat in the dining room or the wrap-around outdoor terrace with Times Square as the backdrop.

Looking for the perfect New Year’s Eve location? The Tempo has 31 “Ball Drop Rooms” featuring close-up (and drop-dead-gorgeous) views of the crystal-encrusted Times Square Ball.

Every minor detail of the new tower has been carefully crafted by the teams behind Tempo by Hilton, TSX Broadway and the Palace Theatre to create a reimagined corner of 47th Street and Broadway that will usher new generations to the beloved spot. And that… is the state of the art!
