Philadelphia is not called the City of Brotherly Love for nothing! After years of courting LGBT travelers with the innovative “Get Your History Straight and Your Nightlife Gay®” tourism campaign, Philly became one of the top 10 most visited U.S. destinations by gay and lesbian travelers in 2010.
With a welcoming Gayborhood, centered on 13th and Locust Streets, gay Philly thrives year-round. At no time, however, will the city better allow you to “Get Your Culture Versatile” than during the diverse offerings of the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA) this spring.
Alongside PIFA’s 135 scheduled events, featuring virtually all artistic genres, the city entices the most sisterly of brothers (and brotherly of sisters) with the following gay-centric events from April 7 to May 1:
- Pink Pub Crawl, an evening bar crawl hitting some of the Gayborhood’s liveliest spots: March 26.
- Mr. Gay Philadelphia competition: April 16.
- Philadelphia Black Gay Pride: April 28-May 1.
- Equality Forum, a political and cultural summit for the LGBT community: April 25-May 1.
